Just back from a long weekend in Lisbon with Victoria — her treat to me, and what a treat it was. We averaged around eight miles of walking each day, and I was convinced it wouldn’t be long before I spotted a lonely shoe. But I didn’t. Lisbon is surprisingly litter-free — one of the cleanest cities I’ve visited.
Then, on the last day, thanks to a recommendation from a Portuguese friend of mine, Gabe, we visited the Museum of Puppets — Museu da Marioneta — relocated to the Convento das Bernardas in 2001.
We were lucky enough to catch a temporary exhibition, 60 Years of Puppet Animation from Latvia Film Studio Animācijas Brigade, and there it was. Not exactly lonely, but a single shoe nonetheless and I thought worth sharing.
I fully recommend a visit if you’re ever in Lisbon.
