Today the Bridport to Ukraine group filled up a hire van to the hilt and is heading off to an orphanage in Romania, where 60 children without parents have arrived from war torn Ukraine.

One can only imagine how traumatised these children must be, and group spent yesterday re-opening boxes and repacking them with exactly the right age specific donations, and filling their list of priority items.

So far the orphanage have received nothing, this will be the first aid to them. The child psychologist they are in contact with left his home town in Moldova in such an emergency, and unaware of how long he would be needed that he only has the clothes he is wearing… a suitcase was also  packed for him.

The group, led by Claire Nuttall and Jane Wayne, have stuffed roll mats with lots and lots of gorgeous teddies.

The van is being driven by Ben McGachy and Nick Brennan, who only got back from a previous aid trip together on Sunday when they took aid into Lviv, Ukraine. If you would like to donate, please use the Bridport to Ukraine’s just giving link, 100% of the money is spent on moving your beautiful donations safely into the right hands.
