It was a windy overcast (still 30 degrees) day, so conjuring up all our British stiff upper lip resolve we headed to the beach where we spotted this lonely shoe searching for it’s owner. However, on closer inspection, this cheap Birkenstock pretender had seen better days – not unlike myself – so we left it to its fruitless task knowing it had little time left to enjoy the sea air before someone chucked it in the litter bin.
